I remember the day like it was yesterday, the memory is that vivid. If I close my eyes, I can picture the scene: a coral shell road, a gate to a hotel by the beach and two people struggling with the gate. It was early in the morning and I was on my way to work. You see, this was Galapagos Islands and I was 12 years old. I worked at the Charles Darwin Foundation as a park ranger’s assistant.

Q: Who is your favorite character of all time?
My favorite character is Dr Who from the new BBC series. He is a Time Lord who is battling the bad guys in all planets and all dimensions to ensure the survival of the Universe. This character has survived for eons and periodically changes his human form like we change clothes. He always has a sidekick or more and usually is a young, pretty girl who helps him through the adventures. Read more
